SEMPTEMBER 25, 1924 =================================== LATISHA PARKURST YOUNT Latisha Parkhurst Yount was born in Tiffin City, Ohio, June 2, 1831 and passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 21, 1924 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Joe Tubbs, aged 93 years, 3 months and 19 days. She was married to Daniel Yount in Tiffin City, Ohio November 15, 1848. In 1880 they moved to Iowa, coming to Lake City in the spring of 1891. Eight children, seven girls and one boy, came to gladden the home. Four children preceded Mrs. Yount in death. Mr. Yount dies April 7, 1897. Mrs. Yount became a Christian when but 16 years of age and united with the methodist church and kept that faith during her remaining years. Four daughters survive. Mrs. Dora Dorkee of Hammond, Ind., Mrs. Latisha Brown of Northport, Nebr., Mrs Kittie Pordy of Rockwell City and Mrs. Nellie Tubbs of Lake City. There are 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Mrs. Yount was a good Christian mother, a good neighbor, ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need of help of a cheerful word.
