Lola Ramona Harding Luth, of Scottsbluff, passed away Thursday Nov. 1, 2007.
Memorial services were held Nov. 5 at First Christian Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Michael Stein officiating. Inurnment was in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. Jolliffe Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
She was born to Warren R. and Ethel M. (Wills) Harding near Hebron, Sept. 12, 1908. She was baptized into the Christian faith and completed her early schooling before her family moved to Alma where she met and married Clyde L. Luth on July 18, 1928.
Their sons Vernon, Leonard, and Richard were all born in Alma. In 1941, they moved to Wood River, then to Scottsbluff where Vernon and Leonard became afflicted with polio. They moved to Lincoln so their sons could receive medical treatment. While in Lincoln, they adopted their daughter, Lynda.
They moved back to Scottsbluff in 1948, and Lola worked with her parents at Harding Market, as a homemaker, and gave piano lessons.
Lola was a member of a Contester's Club and won numerous contests. She loved to crochet and made over 300 Afghans, including Nebraska Cornhusker items, as she was an avid Cornhusker fan. Reading, crossword puzzles, puzzles, solitaire, and baking were also pastimes she loved. She enjoyed visits and calls from family, friends, and members of the First Christian Church where she was a member.
Survivors include her daughter: Lynda Brown of Fort Morgan, Colo.; sister: Delma Fadely of Carson, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband; three sons; brothers: Ronald and Lloyd Harding; and grandson: Denis Luth.
