Denis Luth

  Funeral services for Denis James Luth, 43, of Gillette will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Thayer of the Eastern Orthodox Church officiating.
  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the chapel with a Trisagion of Mercy for the departed at 5 p.m.
  Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 42. Mr Luth died Monday, May 9, 2005 at his home of cancer.
  He was born to Richard and Charlene (Wimmer) Luth on March 4, 1962, in Scottsbluff, Neb., where he attended elementary school. His family moved to Gillette in the early 1970s where he completed his schooling, graudating from Campbell County High School in 1980.
  Upon his graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Means, on Nov. 22, 1980. in Gillette. They made their home and started their family here. In 1983, he entered the U.S. Navy, which required the family to move to several different states over the course of his 13 years of duty.
  In 1996, he and his family returned home to Gillette, where he began working for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He was diagnosed in 1999 with melanoma cancer. This diagnosis made fo rhis coversion from a daytime engineer to a night electric technician in Alliance, Neb. Me. Luth continued to work for BNSF until March, when his health prevented him from working.
  In April, he returned to Gillette. He was very artistic and expressed himself best through woodworking and drawing. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor and wuick wit.
  Mr. Luth is survived by his wife of 24 years of Gillette; two sons, Nathan Luth and Sean Luth, both of Gillette; one daughter, Sarah Luth of Aberdeen, S.D.; his mother, Charlene Heinrich of Gillette; three brothers, Jon Luth and Jeff Luth, both of Gillette and Owen Luth of Salt Lake City; one sister, Teri Christianson fo Red Wing, Minn.; paternal grandmother, Lola Luth of Scottsbluff, Neb, and numberous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews/
  He was preceded in death by his father in 1994, maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother.
