On the Twentyninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Before us the undersigned Notaries Public, duly commissioned and sworn in and for that part of Canada, heretofore constituting the Province of Lower Canada, residing at the City of Quebec, personally came and appeared, Bartholomew Brown of the Township of Ireland Yeoman of the one part, and William Forsyth of the Parish of the Joseph P???L??? Gentlemen respected heads by Richard Charles Porter of the Township of Ireland Yeoman his attorney of the other part, which said parties have covenanted, declared and agreed together as follows: that is to say, the said Bartholomew Brown for divers good causes and considerations, and for the further consideration of ?????? Shillings current money of Canada, to him in hand, well and truly paid at the time of the execution hereof by the said William Forsyth the receipt of which he doth hereby acknowledge, did as by these presents, he doth grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said William Forsyth all that certain lot, parcel, or tract of land situate, lying and being in the Township of Ireland in the County of Megantic in the District of Quebec known and distinguished as the lot number twenty two in the Sixth Range of the Said Township Containing two hundred acres of land more or less in ???????? with the usual allowances for highways. ~~~~~~~

together with all the dependencies and appurtenances thereunto belonging and appertaining. To have and to hold the same unto the said William Forsyth his heirs, and assigns from henceforth for ever in free and common soccage ; subject nevertheless to the payment of all monies, dues and instalments now owing or hereafter to become payable in respect of the said bargained and sold premises unto the Crown in the virtue of the original grant of the said land. To him the said Bartholomew Brown the said bargained and sold premises belonging and appertaining as having purchased the same from the Crown on the Eighth day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and FiftyFour Done and Executed as aforsaid, on the day and year first above written in the Residence of the said Richard Charles and signed by the said parties hereto with us the said Notories, in faith and testimony of the premises, the original hereof, having been first duly read, remaining recorded amongst the original Actes or minutes of Fisher Langlois one of us the said Notaries, under the number Four hundred,and thirty one______ Bartholomew Brown_ R C Porter for W Forsyth F Langlois ????
