Funeral Today For Charles W. Sanburn

  Charles Wesley Sanburn, 65, was killed instantly at his home one half mile east of the Open Skies Resort at 1:30 Monday when he and Mrs. Sanburn were sawing a supply of winter's wood with a buzz saw. The arbor and saw blade were mounted on the planking which split and threw the spinning saw against Mr. Sanburn.
  Born in Sickles, Oklahoma, Sept. 17, 1909, Mr. Sanburn has resided here since 1936. A veteran of World War II, he had been a woods worker for many years, having been employed at the Straalsund-Thesman mill in Newport from 1951-1958. He had retired to a farm in the Furport area.
  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug 28, from the Sherman Chapel in Newport with The Rev. Mark Ramseth officiating. Burial will be in the Newport cemetery.
    Survivors include his wife, Ellamae, at the home, three daughters, Lois Hoop and Gladys Mitchell, both of Priest River and Louise Lambert of Newport; one son, Everett Sanburn, Gresham, Ore.; a sister, Pearl Maden, Pueblo, Colo.; a brother, Nathaniel Sanburn, Spokane, and 12 grandchildren.

  NEWPORT. Wash--Funeral for Charles W. Sanburn, 66, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sherman Chapel in Newport. The Rev. Mark Ramseth will officiate and interment will be in Newport Cemetery.
  Mr. Sanburn died Monday at his Newport home.
  He was born Sept. 17, 1909, at Oklahoma.
